A 20 minute video on how to paint a model in 10 minutes

Folks were asking me for a video of how I 'quickly' paint up a model for Dust.  So here's my experimental first video...please be gentle!

  1. Nice job Russ! Any chance of doing the same for one of the walkers???

  2. Need some good pics of the finished piece. It's a good first effort, I've been struggling making videos myself. Positioning the camera so you can see what your doing while still having a good shot is very difficult. Still, you've inspired me to take another shot at making a video. Here's one I'd made before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hWTYEjIHfc&feature=context-chv

I realize that this is what you had on hand at a convention but I would really recommend you use a larger brush. I prefer a #1 or a #2 for all my painting. For example, all the miniatures in this gallery, and 99% of everything I paint is painted with a #1 brush.

A larger brush should really cut down on the time it takes you to paint. Imagine cutting 50% of your brush-strokes. That's a significant time saving.

Anyway, good video, good speedpainting. I'm looking forward to your next video.

  3. Yeah nice video Russ,i agree with the earlier commit about some nice pics of the finished model as it wasn't that clear at the end.

    Cheers,Steve.
